...Is A Woman Stuck In Abuse

Raise The Rates NOW:
End Violence Against Women & Children

Join with other women on June 7th to demand that the government:
* Implement a 40% increase in the social assistance rates
* End the clawback of the National Child Tax Credit
* Re-instate the Special Diet allowance

A coalition of women's advocates and anti-violence & income security groups have come together to create an avalanche of support to demand real change.

We are calling on all women to raise our collective feminist voices - TOO LOUD TO BE IGNORED AND TOO ANGRY TO BE APPEASED - until real changes are made.

On June 7th, we are organizing simultaneous protests
* outside Minister Madeleine Meilleur's office at the Ministry of Community and Social Services, Hepburn Block, 80 Grosvenor St., Toronto and
* outside Honourable Madeleine Meilleur's constituency office in Ottawa, 237
Montreal Rd., Vanier

Please talk to your colleagues, co-workers, clients, members, friends and encourage all to attend.

Please post the attached flyer and circulate it to everyone you can think of.

Please consider a donation - any amount helps. Nellies has started us off with the first donation of $50.00 and has also agreed to accept donations on behalf of the June 7th event. OAITH has also committed $50.00 toward the cost of the event. We are working on having food and beverages donated but we still need funds for microphone & speaker facilities, banners, ASL services, bus tokens.
